Context

This game is one of two games I've developed and helped publish while working at MemoMoti in 2020. The other game is called Dwarf Miner and can be seen here. My involvement in that Game was pretty much the same.

Driftonaut is a Single-Player Puzzle Game where you control an Astronaut that wants to reach his Spaceship! But you got to be careful, in space you cannot decelerate, so you will continue moving until you hit something!

This game was made in a group of 4 interns supervised by my boss, the Owner of MemoMoti : Gira Szakmar and the Technical lead : Farzam Molk Ara.

Driftonaut is an educational Game made with the MemoMoti framework for EduGamiTec.

My involvement

For this project I was the lead programmer and sound designer. I designed the software architecture for the game and programmed in collaboration with another intern everything in the game from the UI to input handling to the gameplay feedback. The game was made in Unity.

Learning Outcome

In this Project I significantly deepened my understandings of Event Driven programming, as the game is mostly event-driven.

Challenges

The biggest Challenges were synchronization of different time dependent elements and managing of all the states in an event driven system.
